Are Vapes and E-Cigarettes Different? Find Out Here!

'Vape' and 'e-cigarette' are not different, both are terms related to electronic/battery-powered devices that heat e-liquid to produce vapor (aerosol). This process of heating e-liquid is also called vaporization or vaping.

Vapes are usually equipped with a tank to fill e-liquid or what is known as MOD, meanwhile POD has a "cap" or mouthpiece that is already filled with e-liquid.

What are the Types of Vapes?

Although e-cigarettes and vapes are essentially the same smoke-free alternative products, there are several types of vape devices, such as mod systems, disposable pod, to rechargeable pods.

1. MOD

Vapes with the MOD system have a larger battery capacity and size. You can also adjust the power (wattage) and temperature with the coil inside the device. MOD devices have an e-liquid tank that can be refilled with various different e-liquid flavors after cleaning it. In vapes that have this coil, when activated, an internal mechanism known as an atomizer will turn on to heat the e-liquid.

2. POD

Vapes with the POD system have a smaller and slimmer size and design. You don't need to replace the coil and wash the e-liquid tank because the e-liquid in the POD is usually already filled in the mouthpiece. If the e-liquid already runs out, you can replace the mouthpiece with a new one. Vapes with the POD system are divided into two types, namely disposable pods and rechargeable pods.

a. Disposable POD

Disposable pod is a term for a disposable vape device that cannot be recharged and e-liquid. When the battery and e-liquid are empty, the pod device must be discarded because it cannot be recharged.

b. Rechargeable POD

With a rechargeable pod, you can recharge the battery and e-liquid without having to throw away or replace the entire pod device. You only need to replace the mouthpiece or POD that has been filled with e-liquid when it runs out.
